Beijing: China has expressed concern over the current situation in the region, with the Chinese Foreign Ministry stating that it is closely monitoring developments. The ministry urged both Pakistan and India to return to a path of political resolution, emphasizing dialogue as the means to resolve disputes.
Following reports of Indian Operation 'Sindoor' and Pakistan’s launch of ‘Operation Bunyad-e-Marsus,’ China has issued an important statement. The Chinese Foreign Ministry called on both nations to exercise restraint and to act in the broader interest of peace and stability.
The ministry underscored the need for both countries to avoid any actions that could further escalate tensions. It also stressed that a peaceful settlement through diplomatic means is the best approach for resolving the conflict.
The statement came amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, following India’s alleged aggressive actions. In response, Pakistan launched ‘Operation Bunyad-e-Marsus,’ targeting multiple Indian locations. These included Udhampur Airbase, Pathankot, Sirsa, Suratgarh Airfields, BrahMos storage site, Indian Brigade Headquarters G-Top, and a supply depot in Uri, among others. According to reports, 12 targets were destroyed, with ongoing operations by the Pakistan Army and Air Force.
Following Pakistan's retaliatory actions, reports suggest that India has been reaching out to the international community for support. The situation remains tense, with global stakeholders closely monitoring the developments in the region."
